Hey! My name is Paige, and I’m the artist behind Star Map Studio. I’ve been making art almost my whole life (growing up, my mom loved to talk about the chalk animals I would draw on the sidewalk), from drawing with those pencils with terrible erasers that don’t erase to learning how to paint with acrylics in high school. In college, I focused more on the digital side with a degree in graphic design before transitioning into photography in Disney World after graduation (along with a few internships, my favorite being in London for a summer). I’m currently working with a local marketing and sales firm in addition to my art and design business.

I’m terrible with astronomy (I didn’t know physics would have such a huge role, so no astronomy major for me), but I have always loved the stars. Star maps are these beautiful works of art, and their main goal is (as the name states) a guide to the sky. My goal with Star Map is to create a collective of artists who aim to bring a little more joy into the world. So let’s get started and make the world a more lovely place, one painting at a time.

Naomi Howard is a loving mother of three cats, an artist, an intense board-gamer, a meme expert, and an aspiring comedian (or at least she acts like one). She currently works for a small local tea business, Piper & Leaf, and makes art in her spare time. She has a passion for the arts, so she has dabbled in nearly every medium. Her main focus is on the chaotic beauty of fluid art, which matches her personality. But lately she has also been working a lot with classic acrylic, ink, needlework, and wood.

Lily Wells is an amazing friend artist, student, and aspiring author. She learned tatting (the art of lace-making) from her mother and took to the family tradition immediately. Now she makes gorgeous tatted jewelry in dozens of designs and even makes her own patterns. When she’s not making lace, she’s busy writing original stories or binge-watching murder documentaries.

Miranda Ratliff has been involved in many different disciplines over their lifetime, including music, sewing, painting, drawing, knitting, and theater. While working as an apprentice at a tattoo parlor, they have been working on digital portraits and honing their painting skills to produce colorful works that express their adoration for their cats and friends, including a few statement pieces in their collection “Pretty on the Inside.” Miranda is an advocate for kindness, self-love, and self-expression in all forms and is excited for the opportunity to work with other artists, as well as both learn from and teach other aspiring makers.
